Way back in the early days of the pandemic, I traveled to Richmond VA for a sad family emergency. This was when we were still washing our groceries, disinfecting our mail, wiping down every surface with bleach as soon as we entered a room. It was in the midst of this chaotic, anxious ordeal that I recorded this LP - the 7th installment of Feeding Tube's weekly Friday night zoom concerts. I left the kids at my in-law's house, pieced together some ragged kit and headed back to our airbnb alone.

And here you have QuaranTunes Series no.007.
Recorded live on May 29. 2020 from a hotel room in Richmond, VA as part of Feeding Tube Records' QuaranTunes series.
Recorded direct to a 30 year old previously-used cassette tape in glorious mono -- the warm saturation of the cassette really lends itself to a mono mix anyway :) I found the Maxell XLII in the basement of my new house in Philly with a bunch of Bob Marley on it, that I already had, so yeah - perfect.
Originally released on lathe-cut LP by Feeding Tube in 2020 in a tiny edition of 32, now out of print.
Here is a (mostly) complete list of QuaranTune releases -- www.discogs.com/label/2006721-QuaranTunes-Series

At the time, I was working on final mixes of the first Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders LP (Arrowhawk Records) and all of those tracks were taking up most of my headspace, so you get 3 tunes from that record here. And one tune from my earlier solo LP on Feeding Tube (Meditations For Beowulf ) released in 2019. But all of these are vastly different versions - solo, sparse, fragile, warts-and-all. But hey, its LIVE, in strange surroundings, and without any of my well-known gear (I borrowed all of my father-in-law's instruments and mics). One 9-minute improvisational track ends the recording, it is clearly the highlight and it is only available on this set.
