Well here's a deep cut for you. 25 years ago, I played guitar and moog in the Baltimore group Science Kit. We toured quite a lot, including a Southern states tour with Big Heifer, out to Chicago at Lounge Ax opening for Archers Of Loaf (* this was the night that the Lounge Ax sound dood stepped on and snapped the neck of my vintage Micro Frets guitar * never forget *), we also played the first ever Terrastock festival in 1997 with bands like Flying Saucer Attack and Neutral Milk Hotel and the Tropics Of Mellotronic Festival in DC with Pelt, Bardo Pond, Azuza Plane yadda yadda. After one memorable show at a beachy strip club on Cape Fear, we met folks from a North Carolina record label and released this CD.
The last track "Sleepwalking Tiger" was originally released on a 1995 compilation CD from San Francisco label Darla Records.

"Science Kit formed in the mid-'90s from the lineups of several diverse indie bands. Drummer Adam Cooke and guitarist/vocalist Cullen Davis were previous members of Helikopter, guitarist/bassist Jamie Panzer played in Candy Machine, guitarist/bassist/vocalist Craig Bowen was from Pedge, and Jeffrey Alexander -- guitar, analogue synth, and tapes -- played with both Half Calf and the Iditarod. Science Kit released an EP on the Magic Eye label, a split 7" with Roads to Space Travel on Ambiguous City, and contributed other songs to compilations. They played at the 1997 Terrastock Festival, a benefit concert of Ptolemaic Terrascope, an online publication dedicated to post-rock and avant-garde music. Science Kit's music is mostly instrumental and has been described as hypnotic and menacing. Each member brings a unique musical sensibility to the group, creating a strange blend of styles and directions. Among the band's influences is early-'80s British new wave. Davis left the group in late 1997 for Lux Aeterna. Cooke also plays in Roads to Space Travel, Panzer plays with Beautiful Losers, and Alexander continues to perform with three bands."
